Duran Duran is set to release their new album, "Danse Macabre," on October 27, offering fans a blend of original compositions and unexpected covers.

Album Origin and Inspiration
According to a press release, the inspiration for "Danse Macabre" emerged from a special event the band performed in Las Vegas on October 31, 2022. Nick Rhodes, the keyboardist, mentioned that they wanted to create a unique show, incorporating "glorious gothic visuals set to a dark soundtrack of horror and humor."
What to Expect
The 13-track album is now available for pre-order in multiple formats. The track list includes a revamped version of the rare B-side and fan favorite, "Secret Oktober." Additionally, the album is being previewed with its title track. Check it out below.
Roger Taylor, the drummer, stated, "I hope you take a journey with us through the darker side of our inspirations into where we're at in 2023."
Guest Appearances
The band had hinted earlier in the year that the album would feature contributions from their "extended family and friends, old and new." Notably, former guitarist Andy Taylor, who is undergoing treatment for stage 4 prostate cancer, is a part of the project. Other contributors include longtime associate and producer Nile Rodgers, Victoria De Angelis of Maneskin, and Warren Cuccurullo, who had replaced Andy Taylor in 1986 and remained with the band until 2001.
Diverse Track List
The album offers a mix of three new original songs, covers from various artists such as Talking Heads, the Rolling Stones, the Specials, and Billie Eilish, as well as new interpretations of deep cuts from Duran Duran's own discography. Get more info on DuranDuran.com.
